Hello there! I’m Shelby Scott, one of the Product Managers here at Poker Power, and my focus is all about enhancing the poker game within our app. I’ll be checking in with you regularly to share exciting new features and improvements designed to make your experience more enjoyable, help you sharpen your poker skills, and connect you with a community of amazing women. Every day, we’re working to make the app better, so you get the most out of your time with us. I’m so excited to be on this journey with you!
Now, let’s talk about a brand-new, highly requested feature that we rolled out this week: Show Cards. This option will be available at the end of every hand (except in practice games), giving you the chance to reveal one, the other, or both of your cards to the table. The inspiration behind this feature comes straight from real-life poker—sometimes, you just want to show your cards! Whether it’s to create a teaching moment or to prove you can bluff with the best of them, we wanted to give you the option to show your hand if you feel like it.
Why is this important? Well, seeing other players’ hands can offer valuable insight into their strategies, betting patterns, and hand strength. It gives everyone a chance to reflect on how the hand played out and learn from it, improving future decisions.
Showing your cards can also be a strategic move. You might reveal a strong hand after bluffing to build your table image and influence future rounds. This psychological element can add a whole new layer to your gameplay.
In more casual or social games, showing your cards can also be a fun way to celebrate—a moment to show off a successful bluff or a well-played hand to your fellow players and enjoy the win together.
So how does it work?
At the end of each hand, a drawer will appear, allowing you to choose whether to show one or both of your cards. If you’d rather keep them hidden, simply swipe the drawer down or wait for the table to reset. You’ll also notice that emoji celebrations are now integrated directly into this drawer, making everything fun and seamless. Additionally, we’ve removed the winner modal that used to pop up frequently at the end of each hand. Now, the winner’s name, their winning hand, and chip amount will appear directly in the center of the table. After 12 seconds, the table will reset for the next hand.
The Show Cards feature is just the start of many exciting updates we’ve got in store to help you elevate your game.
So go ahead and give the Show Cards feature a try in your next game—we can’t wait to see how you use it to engage with other players and enhance your strategies!
