Poker Power has teamed up with WCP (World College Poker) for the freeroll of a lifetime! If you’re a college student (or a graduate less than 3 months out of school) you’re eligible to play in WCP’s current tournament (Fall Brawl) or any future tournament series.
On December 5th and 6th, American players will battle all competitors from their coast until a final eight emerge to play for the title belt at the final table December 12th. The top 25 finishers earn prizes: the top 3 earn free hotel stays in Vegas, Cancun, or Lake Tahoe!
Unlike many free promotions of this type, WCP’s event requires participants to win just one tournament to earn the first prize valued at over $1500. While there is certainly a lot of luck involved in the results of a single tournament, there are a few ways to improve your odds.
You could enroll in a Poker Power class for free lessons, you could practice with Poker Power’s community games, and you could adjust your strategy to suit the specific format of the WCP tournament. We suspect that the first day will be a satellite tournament, meaning that the top four finishers will enter the final table with the same number of chips. In this case, be cautious about putting your stack at risk late in the day when it’s possible you could coast into third or fourth place by playing tight.
To compete, sign up here in advance of your region’s kickoff date. The value for time on offer is quite high given that the field will be relatively small (due to the college ID requirement) and that a deep run would only take a few hours. If you play in this game please let us know how it goes! Rare opportunities to challenge yourself like this lead to growth; feel free to discuss interesting hands from the tournament at a PP lesson so your whole club can learn from your experience.
Stay tuned for more events like this in the future. May all your cards be live and all your pots be monsters!
