How do I apply the poker skills I learn to the real world?
Poker is used to enhance confidence, emotional intelligence, and assertiveness while sharpening strategic-thinking and decision-making skills that translate to all areas of life, from classrooms to boardrooms. Our poker lessons give you real-world examples of how poker skills apply to everyday situations and give you plenty of opportunity to practice.
Is gambling involved in poker?
Our poker lessons and poker games are for educational purposes. Poker Power does not permit gambling in clubs, and no money transacts. We use poker chips to simulate the betting, calling, and raising experience.
Do I need any poker experience to start?
No poker experience is required to start. Poker Power offers a unique approach to learning to play poker, making connections between poker skills and the skills that benefit women+ at work, at school, and at play. We welcome all women+, with any level of poker experience, into our poker lessons, games and events.
Do you have to be a certain age to play poker?
We think all women+ should learn to play poker. We suggest the age range of 13+ works best with our Poker Power curriculum.

What’s the time commitment of becoming a Poker Power club member?
Poker Power clubs, the group that you take weekly lessons with, are held over video conference for one hour a week for four weeks to start. Once you complete Poker Power Beginner lessons, you have the option to extend for an additional four weeks in Poker Power Intermediate lessons, and another four weeks for Poker Power Advance lessons.
How often you join Poker Power community games and events is entirely up to you. Our community poker games and events can last about an hour, depending on the number of participants and how long your chip stack lasts. There are numerous opportunities to join poker games and events every week.
How soon can I get started playing poker?
We have weekly, live community poker lessons starting every month. Our community lessons are a real-time, group experience led by an expert Poker Power instructor in a video conference classroom. Enroll in our Beginner classes if you’re new to poker and the Poker Power curriculum!
How soon can I get started learning poker?
Download the Poker Power Play app to begin playing immediately and for free! Our bite-sized in-app lessons make learning poker a breeze and allow you to learn at your own pace, anytime.
I identify as male, how can I support this initiative?
We love to hear from our male-identifying allies! The Poker Power mission is to teach 1 million women+ poker in a comfortable, motivational environment, and support from our male-identifying allies is pivotal in that effort! We hope that you will encourage all women+ in your life to #joinpokerpoker! We also encourage you to introduce this game in your own homes. We hear wonderful stories of those who identify as male teaching their families poker strategies at the dinner table, or setting up women+ poker tables at family holidays! Overall, your genuine excitement and enthusiasm is contagious and can be especially motivating for the women+ in your life, so keep the conversation going and let's break down the barriers together! Lessons
How do you learn poker without using money?
We use poker chips to simulate the betting, calling, and raising experience found in poker games and a leaderboard for games and events.
Are poker lessons completely virtual?
We want our Poker Power community always to feel safe and supported, so we use a 100% virtual model, with video conferencing and a mobile app play for our live, weekly poker lessons and one-on-one private poker lessons.
Do I have to attend every poker lesson?
We recommend attending all poker lessons in order, as they build upon each other. If you miss a live session with your class, speak with your instructor about joining a make up class.
What if I have to miss a poker lesson?
No worries! Poker Power provides an easy reference handout for each lesson, and we host a beginner review and class session every Monday. Contact your instructor for make up class details.
Cost and fees
Is there a cancellation fee?
There is no cancellation fee if lessons are cancelled prior to the series beginning. Once elected lesson package has begun, no refunds will be permitted and all rescheduling must be done at least 48 hours prior to any scheduled lessons. Please email us at support@pokerpower.com if you need to reschedule your poker lesson enrollment.
How much do poker lessons cost?
Our Beginner poker lessons are provided for $70 USD for a series of four classes. Poker Power is on a mission to teach 1 MILLION women+ how to play poker, because the skills gained from playing poker are so essential for women+ in their everyday lives. Make sure to take your seat at the table with us, and benefit from the power of poker in your life.

How do you play poker virtually?
Our one-hour lessons consist of a 30-minute presentation via video conferencing followed by 30-minutes of interactive gameplay in the Poker Power Play app.

How do I delete my Poker Power Play account?
- Open the Poker Power app
- Open the menu
- Tap on profile
- Tap on the profile tab
- Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete Account"
