Philosophy and Code of Conduct

Poker Power was created as a welcoming, encouraging, female-friendly environment. Our community is there for members to practice skills and strategies they learn in their lessons and fail without judgement.

In poker games, outside of Poker Power, it is common for players to judge your play. We encourage the opposite here. Instead of questioning what you may consider the wrong move another player made, maybe suggest an alternate strategy you learned in one of our lessons. But at the end of the day, the choices and moves each player makes at the poker table are their own and should remain so. They will discover if those moves benefit them or not, in their own time, in their own way.

We also recognize that women are busy, pulled in many different directions, and you may have to step away from the game sometimes for a few minutes. If you do, choose “Leave game” in the menu so it will “sit you out” until you can return. If you think you won’t be able to commit to an hour or a little longer, then maybe wait till the next game. When play is paused, it can be frustrating for others at the table.

If you are ready to take the next step and participate in games outside of our community, we celebrate your growth and confidence! We suggest you check out our events page, where we post various tournaments that benefit various charities, and our partner the Women’s Poker Association. They, like us, lift up and support women who want to play this male-dominated game of poker. You can join the Women’s Poker Association for free and get info about other events as well.
